I have sensitive skin, which basically means I have to overthink every product like it’s a life decision. But guess what? A while ago, I had no clue about any of this. I’d slap anything on my face—moisturizer, random creams, probably some toothpaste at some point. The result? Dry patches, acne marks, dark circles, blackheads. I thought any product on the shelf was good for my face, It wasn’t. My skin was like, “Girl, stop playing!”
After a lot of research (and a few skincare breakdowns), I found out all the products I was using were completely wrong for my skin.
Here’s my simple skincare routine that saved my skin:
Step 1: Makeup Remover
Stop thinking washing your face removes makeup. It doesn’t. Trust me, your pillow knows.
Step 2: Pre-Cleanser
If you’re into waterproof makeup, use this. If not, skip and thank me later.
Step 3: Cleanser
Sensitive skin bestie? Go for a cleansing lotion. Use it anytime—after the gym, after crying over a rom-com, before bed. Just avoid scrubbing like you’re washing dishes, okay?
Step 4: Freshener
It’s NOT toner or astringent (those alcohol-loaded villains). Use a calming freshener for hydration. DIY recipe coming soon because I’m here to save your wallet too.
Step 5: Serum
Daytime = hydrating serum
Nighttime = oil-based serum
They’re like your AM and PM BFFs.
Step 6: Moisturizing
- Eye Cream: Tap it gently with your ring finger because your eyes deserve luxury.
- Day/Night Cream: Day = SPF-packed. Night = Repair-and-chill vibes.
Step 7: SPF (Even Indoors!)
Sun doesn’t care if you’re inside. Spray SPF over your makeup and stay fabulous.
